Heart of Christ, a faith-based mission located in Honduras, was founded by Rev. Lee and Gracie Murphree June 28, 2005.
It is the heart of Christ that reaches out to rescue the lost, the suffering, and the dying. We must impact the world by sharing Christ's love in the form of serving others, meeting their needs, rescuing them from their suffering and discipling and empowering them to become the solutions to the problems around them.

We can say we are Christians and we have faith, but if we don't DO anything, we are liars . . .
We must BE the voice for the voiceless . . . We must love one another as he has loved us. . . with every breath we take.
For ten days during July 2004, Gracie and Lee came to Honduras with a mission team to serve orphans, do VBS and other evangelical work and construction. When it came time to pack and go home to the USA, our mission teammates were all talking about what a good time they had and how they were glad to be going home.
As we packed our bags, each of us, without knowing how the other felt, sensed we were leaving home and not going home. Upon our return to the USA it became evident to us both that God was calling us back to Honduras. We sold our house and cars, quit our jobs and raised funds to return on June 28, 2005 with the same organization we came with in 2004.
We arrived on June 28, 2005 and spent a little more than a year working with COM and God then moved us to work with GOI for four years. The mission grew, the work grew and it was evident by 2010 that we needed to incorporate Heart of Christ. April 12, 2012 Heart of Christ-Corazon de Cristo Inc., was incorporated as a non-profit 501c3 in the USA. Then Ministerio Corazon del Redentor Jesus was incorporated in Honduras on September 29, 2012.
We work with a USA board of directors, a Honduras board of directors and a special advisory/leadership council. We also collaborate with many other ministries in Honduras and around the world, as well as with government authorities in Honduras. With the collaboration of so many talented and God-loving people, both in the USA, Honduras and around the world, this ministry is a great success, reaching those who suffer and bringing them out of that suffering into the love of God and a life of hope and healing.
Our vision is to serve God's people in Honduras in a manner that clearly demonstrates the heart of Christ. Meeting their needs, discipling them to serve others, rescuing them out of their suffering, and empowering them to do the same for others. Our vision is that God's children and ministries work together - in unity - to bring about real change in a darkened world. We have to be the people to bring change, rescue and salvation. We need to rise up, have influence and be the problemsolvers. We are God's messengers to deliver people from suffering and give them hope, dramatic rescue and salvation.
"There is no competition in ministry. There are more lost souls and hurting people than we can serve," - Gracie
